Wild Pear Kitchen is an award-winning plant-based and vegetarian café in the heart of New Plymouth’s CBD. We serve colorful, flavorsome wholefoods made fresh in our kitchen, with plenty of options for vegetarians, vegans, healthy eaters and people with dietary requirements.
Whether you are looking for a healthy breakfast, a quick takeaway lunch or somewhere welcoming to sit and enjoy great food, you will find fresh choices across our breakfast menu, salad bar, hot buffet and daily chef specials.
Build your own Wild Salad Bowl, choose something warming from our selection of hot dishes, or explore our deli cabinet filled with freshly made sandwiches, toasties, muffins, raw slices, cakes and other plant-based treats. Our selection changes regularly, giving you something new to discover each time you visit.
Our Smoothie Bar blends fruit, vegetables and nourishing ingredients into fresh smoothies, wellness drinks, plant-based milkshakes and floats. A wide selection of alternative milks is available.
Coffee lovers are well looked after too. We proudly serve locally roasted IncaFé organic coffee, prepared just the way you like it.
Wild Pear Kitchen also provides plant-based catering in New Plymouth and across Taranaki. Our catering range includes fresh salads, hot dishes, platters, sandwiches, sweets, slices and celebration cakes, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available.

Sustainable practices “have been increasing over the last decade” and will increase “even faster in the next one as we innovative to lead the way in more sustainable operations".

Sustainability will be integrated into every aspect of our kitchen business over time, from using sustainable energy sources, making WPK more energy-efficient, optimizing front of house design and utilizing farm to fork supply chain solutions to minimize food waste. Our prediction is that food service business will decrease in size and will find it easier to automate processes and reduce carbon footprint.
